Hi, let me introduce the team at BobKat Home Improvement.
I am Bob, the son of a foundry man and an artist while Kat is the daughter of a carpenter and an artist.
So it is in our genes to work with our hands and our heads. I have degrees in both engineering and business. Now that I am retired from the corporate world, I have the time to do what I like to do, fix things. I started my career working for my father's foundry learning welding, fabrication, etc. as well as working for a construction company building homes. After earning a mechanical engineering degree, I was hired by an aerospace company so concentrated on that for 25 plus years.
While my day job earned me a good living, my love for working with my hands lead me to take up woodworking and doing whatever needed to be done to keep our home functioning as well as other people’s homes.
Kat has a background in the construction trades from working with her father and working as a landscaper during the summers while she was going through school. After earning her fine arts degree, she mainly works as an printmaker and sculptor but she helped me build on a large addition to our house, does landscaping and has worked for a contractor installing wood floors.
She has a good understanding how things should be done and an artist’s eye so they always look good.
